The New Classroom Block

New Classroom Block 2009
With the roof now up, construction of a new classroom block is nearing completion. The building has seven classrooms and an office for school administration.

Calvary Temple Primary and Secondary School serves about 400 students in the Kitintale area of Kampala, Uganda. The original classrooms were temporary wooden structures. These wooden structures now been in use for years, and the school is working to replace them one by one.

The first brick classroom block was completed in 2007, and now houses most of the secondary school classes.

In December of 2008, a wooden building used for two primary school classrooms and the school office was demolished. Calvary Temple Worship Centre, which owns the land on which all of the school facilities currently sit, offered another spot behind the first brick building so that a second brick building could be built. The new building has seven classrooms, and space for the school office.

Thanks to some generous friends who took this project to heart, the roof was put up in July!

During construction, students have been taught in over-crowded classrooms or attending in shifts to work around the lack of classroom space. Your contributions have helped to put a roof on the new classroom block, and provide a much-improved learning environment for students at Calvary Temple School.
