Prayer

We believe that God cares deeply for the children, and that we should pray faithfully for them and for their community. Your prayers are vital to the work of the ministry. Please join us in prayer for the children, their needs, and the community in which they live.

An End to Hunger: Most of our children come from families that cannot afford to buy food. At home, the children are eating just one meal every two to three days. Please pray that food prices will come down, and that families will have income to purchase food. Also, pray that the children will fully recover from the lack of nutrition.

Health: Especially as the food situation becomes increasingly critical, children are vulnerable to sickness. They are also more likely to engage in behavior that puts them at a higher risk for disease like HIV/AIDS. Children already infected with the HIV virus must have proper nutrition for their anti-retro-viral drugs to work.

Care Givers: The children at TOUCH have asked us to pray for those who care for them. Parents, Grandparents, Brothers, and Sisters – all are overwhelmed with trying to meet the needs of a family, a down turned economy, inflation of over 15%, and very little income. They need strength to work and hope for the future. They need encouragement to love through the exhaustion. Pray that God will provide for their families, and that they will be sheltered from the turmoil around them. Think of all that you desire for your own family – all that is truly important – that’s what to pray.

Child Safety: In such crowded conditions, children are easy prey for those who would harm them. This is why the school stays open for them from early morning until just before dark, when their guardians are more likely to be home. Still, many have no one to look after them outside of school. As in any city, children can be victims of abuse and rape, and they can be drawn into crime or gangs.

  • Relief from high inflation, especially food.
  • More monthly financial support from friends.
  • Opportunities to speak and advocate for the children.
  • Medicines and efective treatment for Sickle Cell and Asthma.

  • Effective outreach to families.
  • Business partnerships with people of integrity.
  • Wisdom and clarity as we make our 5-year plan.
  • Expertise for upcoming projects.

  • Day of Prayer for Children – 1st Saturday in June
  • Individual Prayer by Name for Children in Our Programs – This is a great way to get your small group involved! We pray over every child by name. God knows every need, and He knows the plans He has for each child. You will be blessed as you pray with us.
