The Ten-Dollar Difference

$10 feeds a child for a month

$10 feeds a child for a month

Your gift of just $10 a month can keep a child fed and nourished. For just 34 cents a day, a child’s life is changed!

Schools in the slums are more than learning centers. They provide basic needs that poverty-stricken parents and guardians cannot. For families that eat every two to three days, the most important need we meet is the need for food.

The lack of nutrition impairs a child’s ability to learn and develop. Chronic hunger damages a child’s mind and body, stunting growth and sapping energy and abilities. For children with HIV, missing meals makes it difficult for them to continue taking life-saving medications, as side effects become even more severe.

Food insecurity is associated  with:

  • grade repetition
  • absenteeism
  • anxiety
  • aggression
  • poor mathematics scores
  • social dysfunction
